Thanks to this endless, dry winter, my skin has been uncooperative and to be honest, a real bitch lately. I usually use Lush face masks to soothe my face and attack blemishes, but I started alternating with a gentle, homemade mask in between. This mask has been calming by redness and moisturizing my skin like a gem. All you need are oats, honey, milk, olive oil, and a lemon.
Oats calm the skin, while honey–with all of its antibacterial properties–cleanses and tightens the pores. Olive oil moisturizes, and lemon brightens the skin.
Recipe:
Turn a half cup of oats into a powder using a food processor. Then, combine that with milk to make oatmeal (follow the box instructions for proportions). Add 2 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp olive oil, and 1 tbsp of lemon juice. Stir together and apply to face for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash off.
